Importing photos from your phone

If you're like us, you probably capture memories frequently with your mobile device. It’s easy to add them to ibi, where you can enjoy and share along with all your other memories.

  1. If you didn’t turn this on when setting up, just go to the menu on the top left corner and select “turn on auto backup.” 
  2. New content will automatically be backed up, even if your app is in the background. 
  3. Auto backup will automatically create a folder as per your device inside ibi app for you to easily access the content  
  4. Deleting pictures from your mobile phone will not remove pictures from your ibi, if they had been previously backed up 
  5. Duplicates;  
    • If you have same images in different sources like on phone, tablet, social media, USB etc and your backup is on from all these sources. Then it might create duplicates 
    • For iOS users if you have icloud turned on your device, the app is smart enough to pull high resolution pictures from there. Note: You don't have to switch on iCloud for all the devices that is connected to your ibi account, one device is enough for ibi to detect and pull data 
    • Duplicates (copies) of files are not created when adding them to an album
    • You can identify the source of the photo that is a duplicate, click on photo Info - this will show you the folder the photo is stored in.
6. In case there is an error that may have occurred due to corrupted photos or videos stored locally in the Photo Library. In that case  we would recommend manually adding the files to ibi and then removing the corrupted files from your mobile device photo library. 
7. To keep using Auto Backup when you're away from a wireless network, you can enable "Cellular Data Backup". Please be careful with this setting, since it will use your cellular data service when transferring files on the road 
8. For Android users, we provide an option to backup additional storage that does not reside in the Photo Gallery, tap "Backup Other Folders" at the auto backup configuration screen.

How to do automatic backups?
  •  During the on-boarding process, the app will show you the option to use auto-backup. You can switch it on there
OR
  • Open the ibi mobile app on your iOS or Android device 
  • Tap the icon in the upper left corner and tap "Settings" 
  • Tap the toggle switch next to the "Automatic backup is off" message to start auto backups to ibi
